The future avalible

There are great possibilities to having an English degree, or knowing a lot about English in general. Being able to understand harder vocabulary is one, this is a very nice ability to have. In a work place or even when going to a place of high class you would be expected to have a higher vocabulary. This does happen believe it or not, personally I got stuck in a job interview and I had a hard time understanding the type of language he was using. I later found out it was a higher form of English and that I had way more to learn. Of course this doesn’t happen with all interviews just the ones where you get a professional job. NOT a fast food job, or at the mall kind of job, a real job where you are doing your major or what you primarily studied for. Another thing that is good about an English degree is that while there are not many jobs that you can do your English degree alone, you can still be able to have fun. Jobs that are available are writing novels, though you cannot sustain yourself on only this, going to work for a newspaper Colum, working at a book store, these are for starters. Getting into the major works are harder, there are very few job offerings. These would be business type jobs though, very sophisticated job for highly educated people. These jobs can pay very well, but some cannot, it really just depends on where you go and what you choose to do.

Why did I choose English? Well I have always loved to write, being able to write has be a thing for me since I was young. Actually I use to hate English…I know right blasphemy!!! But having one awesome teacher changed that and I started writing a short story one day and never stopped or looked back. It became an obsession and nothing was going to get in my way. I learned staying true too who you are is the best way even if English is not your thing. It is still a very good subject to be highly knowledgeable on.
